Did not make the volcano show. Didn't hit any northwest shows until 81--Seattle, Portland, Eugene--my first "tour".
Never did catch any shows in the East--I remember marvelling at the set lists, wondering why we couldn't get any Ikos in the bay (1st one NYE 81, if I remember). Loved being in the band's home--you could catch 20 shows a year without touring--but we all knew that the shows were more intense out east.

I've got to agree with that... Red Rocks/McNichols was as far east as I ever went...

Those were my easternmost (is that a word?) shows as well.
Just a lowly West Coast 80's head.
Actually, I got "it" in 77 at Winterland--30 years ago tomorrow, as you reminded me earlier Cush...(or was that 1,030?)

I'm sure at least a few of us, hopefully more will be listening to 6/9/77 tomorrow night...6pm west coast time. Do join us! Always nice to have someone who was there!

I most definitely would, but I leave with the family for Orcas Island in the San Juans tomorrow AM. Thanks for the invite--I'll be there in spirit. Thanks to the archive, I've been able to listen to Betty's pristine board many times--sure beats the old multi-generational aud I had on a trusty XL2. It's no wonder I got "it" that night--one would have to have been numb and dumb (and deaf, to boot) to have missed the boat that night...now that I think about it, I MAY have been comfortably numb...

The San Juans are in the Puget Sound just a few miles south of Vancouver Island. Showers have been forecast for most of our stay. We'll survive though. The Cental Valley blast furnace will probably be in effect when we return. I know, it's nothing compared to the heat of AZ in summer, but it's still HOT!
In regards to being enhanced 6/9/77--I was REALLY stoned. I had my first psychedelic experience earlier that spring, and I wasn't quite ready for Mr Naturals or Blue Gels at a show (it was my first GD show, not counting SNACK). I WAS ready when I walked out of the old skating rink later that night, though
